• SURVIVE PAST FIVE 5th Birthday Parties

  Micah Challenge wants to see a SURVIVE PAST FIVE 5th Birthday party held in every electorate in Australia before the 2010 federal election, to advocate for child health. Several events have already happened with more to come.

• Victoria Micah Action Training Day

  Get ready to campaign for justice in 2010! With just five years to go to reach the MDGs, an election year is a key opportunity to make sure Australia does all it can to see poverty halved by 2015.
  
  Whether you're new to Micah Challenge or a long-time campaigner, this training day will equip you to speak out for God's justice and get on board with Micah Challenge's 2010 election campaign.
  
  This training day features the Victorian launch of the new Micah Challenge Action Toolkit, plus guest speakers, presentations from political and policy experts and practical workshops.

  - Cost: $15; inc the new Micah Challenge Action Toolkit (+DVD), morning tea.

• Fair Trade Fortnight

  The Fair Trade Fortnight is a great time of year to celebrate all things Fair Trade, recognise the life-changing difference fair trade makes for millions of developing world farmers, and to raise awareness about this important issue with your friends. • Make Poverty History Roadtrip

  The MAKEPOVERTYHISTORY Road Trip is your chance to be part of a movement of passionate young people, traveling together across Australia to help end extreme poverty. From the 8th - 15 of May the Road Trip will unite a generation who are not willing to accept the extreme poverty should exist in the world today.

• Voices for Justice 2010

  Saturday 19 - Tues 22 June 2010 Parliament House.
  
  The 5th annual Micah Challenge national gathering - Voices for Justice - will be held earlier in the year in 2010.This is because it is necessary for the gathering to be held during a Parliamentary sitting week and before the election, which we anticipate will be held in the last quarter of 2010.

  An election year is an important time to get our message and the voices of those in poverty heard. We want to see Global Poverty firmly established as a key election issue - with both major parties making a time-tabled pre-election commitment to increasing the aid budget to 0.7% of GNI. That is why it is essential that Micah Challenge supporters continue to speak up for the poor and make our presence known in Parliament House Canberra in 2010.
