It's great that you're thinking about how you can respond to the call of Micah Challenge. There are many things that you can do that will help to bring about justice and the end of global poverty. Here are some ideas:
1. Pray!
Praying will bring you closer to God's heart for the poor. It is our most powerful weapon against systemic poverty and oppression. Click here for prayer ideas.2. Sign the Micah Call
Signing our major Micah Call petition is a great way to formalise your committment to work for and with the poor. Click here to sign. While you're there, sign up for our monthly e-update so we can keep you updated on the latest action ideas.3. Order a Micah Challenge Action Toolkit
Order a copy of the Micah Challenge Action Toolkit with heaps of creative action ideas and videos. Get your group active
We have lots of resources and events to help you get active. Check out the list of campaign actions under the 'Key Campaigns' tab for a list of our latest campaigns. We suggest you take part in these actions:- Share the Earth! Our MDG7 campaign will help you celebrate God's provision and lead you to take action to ensure environmental sustainability for the world's poor. - Voices for Justice is the Micah Challenge national gathering and lobbying trip to Canberra. Join us for four action-packed days 17-20 September as we take the cause of the world's poor into the halls and corridors of Parliament. Click here for more info.
- Offering of Letters: Just as we offer our money and our time to God, Micah Challenge is encouraging churches, schools and social action groups to offer their voices to God, on behalf of the poor. This year, we're asking you to write to the Deputy PM/ Treasurer, The Hon Wayne Swan, asking him to take action to achieve the MDGs. Click here to learn more.
- Visit your Politician: introduce them to your group, and let them know that poverty is an important issue in your electorate! Click here for tips on making a visit.
